Reservations
How do I make a reservation?
Reservations are available on Resy. The fastest path is the Resy listing, but you can also call us at (617) 351-2500 if you’d rather speak to someone.
Do you take walk-ins?
Yes. The bar and a portion of the dining room are held for walk-ins every night. The sidewalk café is first-come, first-served when the French doors are open.
What’s the largest party you’ll seat in the dining room?
Up to eight at a single table. Parties of nine or more are private events — the Wine Room seats up to 36 (or 60 for a cocktail reception), and the venue can flex up to 200 for a full buyout. See the Private Events page.
Can I cancel or change my reservation?
Of course. Manage it through the Resy confirmation email, or call us. We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice on cancellations of six or more.
Private events & the Wine Room
How many guests can the Wine Room hold?
Up to 36 seated, or about 60 for a cocktail reception. We also have a Banquette Area (21 seated), a half-dining-room option (25+ seated), and a full venue buyout that scales to 200 reception or 114 seated.
What kinds of events do you host?
Rehearsal dinners, corporate dinners and cocktail receptions, milestone birthdays, holiday parties, baby showers, wine tastings, and the occasional surprise. The Wine Room works for almost everything that isn’t a wedding ceremony.
Are custom menus available?
Yes. Our event manager will build a menu around your group, your budget, and any dietary needs. Wine pairings and cocktail packages are part of the conversation.
Is A/V available in the Wine Room?
Yes — a screen, projector, and speakers are on hand for slideshows, toasts, and presentations. Mention your needs on the inquiry and we’ll have it set up before you arrive.
How do I get a quote?
Send an inquiry through the Private Events page or email ssailsman@bostonsbestevents.com. We respond within one business day.
Hours & location
What are your hours?
We’re open seven days a week. Brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 10:30am, lunch and dinner daily, and a late-night menu at the bar. Current hours live in the footer of every page.
Where exactly are you?
327 Newbury Street, Boston, MA 02115 — in the heart of Back Bay, between Hereford and Massachusetts Ave.
What about parking?
Metered street parking on Newbury and the surrounding blocks. The closest garages are the Prudential Center (800 Boylston) and the Hynes Auditorium garage. The Hynes T stop on the Green Line is a two-block walk.
The sidewalk café
Is the sidewalk café open year-round?
It’s seasonal. The French doors typically open in April and stay that way through October, weather permitting. When the doors are open, the dining room becomes the sidewalk — that’s the point.
Can I reserve a sidewalk table?
Sidewalk seating is first-come, first-served. We can’t guarantee an outdoor table on Resy, but we’ll seat you outside whenever weather and availability allow.
What happens if it rains?
The dining room and bar are open the whole time. If you’re seated outside and the weather turns, we’ll move you in.
Your visit
Is there a dress code?
No formal dress code. Most guests show up smart-casual — some in jeans, some dressed for a night out. Wear what makes the occasion feel right.
Are kids welcome?
Always — especially at brunch and on the patio. We can split brick-oven pizzas any way you like.
Are dogs allowed on the sidewalk café?
Yes. Well-behaved dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables when the French doors are open.
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes — available at the host stand or by emailing news@sonsieboston.com.
